Girlfriend Magazine

We asked the hot cast of Young Americans to spill the beans on the characters they play and what they get up to in their spare time.

Kate Bosworth (Bella Banks) How has your life changed since the show? I kind of have two worlds.  When I go home I'm in high school and dealing with that.  Then, there's the whole Hollywood thing.  I feel like I'm an adult and a teenager at the same time.  Are you anything like Bella? I'm a lot like her in some ways.  She's really strong willed, determined and independent.  We're both witty.  What's your dream job? To travel around to five star resorts and write about them.  Wouldn't that be great?!

Ian Somerhalder (Hamilton Fleming) You used to model.  How did you get into it? I started when I was 10.  I wanted things all the time, and my parents wouldn't give in.  I was brainstorming ways to make money and my mum came up with the idea.  When I was 15, I went to work in Europe by myself.  Tell us a little about Hamilton. He's the Dean's son and he's grown up around school.  He knows every nook and cranny.  Now he goes there and he wants to show everyone what he knows.

Mark Famiglietti (Scout Calhoun) Tell us about Scout. He's rich but not hung up on it.  He's kind of a romantic.  He rides around with a girl on his handlebars.  Scout's the 'all-American boy'.  Are you anything like him? He's an overachiever.  I was also an overachiever in high school.  How do you get along with the other cast members? It's so bizarre, I've never worked with a cast that's so tight.  Everyone is really different, but come Friday night everyone's together, everyone's included.

Katherine Moennig (Jake Pratt) Your character has a secret.  Does it make your job harder? What makes it difficult is playing two exact opposites at the same time, but it's so much fun.  What's a normal day on the set like? Wake up at 5:30 or 6:30am, go to the set, get dressed and wait around for three hours to get started, then it's a lot of hard work.  What would you be doing if you weren't acting? I'd probably just be finishing college.  I think I would have majored in Marine Biology or I'd want to study to go into the FBI.

Rodney Scott ( Will Krudski) How would you describe the show? You can't compare it to any other teen dramas on TV.  It's about real life.  The other shows set the standard, but our show takes it a step further.  Are you like Will? There's a lot of Will in myself.  We are both trying to leave a place we grew up in but not forget the people there.  What do you do on your day off? I play golf, try to read a bit, watch TV and relax.  Sometimes we'll go to a pool and lounge around, just feel like lazy worthless bums.
