Star:  So you're not like Hamilton then?
Ian: I didn't go through the sexual confusion he had, no!  But I am like him in that he doesn't run with the main crowd, he's kind of an outsider; which is exactly how I was at school.

Star:  What have you been up to since Young Americans?
Ian: I've just finished working on a movie, Life As A House, with Hayden Christensen [the new Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars II].  It's a really heartfelt 'dramedy'.  It won't be out in the UK for a while though.

Star:  So would you like to move away from TV and go into movies?
Ian: I never really intended doing TV, but that's where a lot of amazing actors have come from.  I have friends who've been making movies for five years who don't get noticed, and I did a show which was only on for eight weeks and I still get stopped walking down the street.  I guess I've been very lucky.
