There were many scenes (actually, there were even whole shows - the unaired Pilot and Drive) from Young Americans that just never made it to the TV screen. Whether they ended up on the cutting room floor or rewritten before ever being filmed, we never got to see them. Some of those scenes go a long way towards explaining the characters and their relationships better and some are just really fun to read... :) I'm going to use the YA Recycling Bin for those scenes.
There were also some scenes that aired overseas, but not here in the states. I'm going to post the transcripts from those scenes and hopefully screen caps, as well. I have tapes from Europe and screen caps can be made. I thought it would be cool to see what everyone else got to see!

Here is a quick sample from "Gone." The scene where Hamilton and Jake are at the restaurant (which, by the way, is Pazzaluna Restaurant in Baltimore for those of you who'd like to go there.)
Jake and Hamilton are finished eating. The waiter puts the CHECK in the middle of the table. They both reach for it.
HAMILTON/JAKE
I got it.
Jake puts her hand over
his. Takes it out of his grip.
JAKE
No. It's my treat. This was my idea, remember.
HAMILTON
I thought you were, we were, I mean...
JAKE
What, you're going to be the boy. I'm going to be the girl. So, I'm supposed to let you pay the check?
HAMILTON
Well, yeah.
She looks at him.
JAKE
Um. Okay. Look...Hamilton. I've never known how I'm supposed to act or what I'm supposed to do. I've never even thought about it. So just because I'm wearing a dress, I should start now?
HAMILTON
No- that's not what I'm saying...
JAKE
Am I supposed to let you pull out my chair and open doors and pay the check? Am I supposed to laugh at al your jokes? Even the ones I think are lame.
He looks at her.
JAKE
And you'll drive, lead the way
and pick the topics of conversation. You know, some of that seems sweet
and old fashioned but a lot of it seems arcane and...not who I am.
HAMILTON
I don't think you know who you are.
(gets up, all huffy)
Now if you'll excuse me I have to use the bathroom.
JAKE
(get ups, equally huffy)
Me too.
They both head for the RESTROOMS. Jake gets there first, almost walking into...THE MEN'S ROOM. An awkward beat.
HAMILTON
Case in point.
Hamilton goes inside. Off Jake, mortified.
