Another disturbing college-related film, except this one is based on a 1988 book by Bret Easton Ellis, as opposed to Animal House. It's the Reagan '80's at a pretentious New England liberal arts college, and Sean Bateman (Patrick "American Psycho" Bateman's younger, somewhat less psychotic, brother) sleeps with anything that moves, but is obsessed with the beautiful Lauren (Shannyn Sossamon, page 232). Lauren wants only Victor, who's gone to Europe but may have some interest in Sean. Meanwhile, Lauren's ex-boyfriend Paul falls for Sean. Clear enough? When not navigating the perils of their burgeoning love triangle, the trio mortgage their futures in a blur of drugs, booze, bad music and changing majors.
