Spoilers!

Yes, spoilers.  So, if you want to be completely surprised next fall when the movie finally hits theaters, then turn quickly and run.  Leave this page now.

I am not the sort of person who likes to wait.  Patience is not a virtue I possess in any measurable quantity.  I want to know it all and now.  For those that think spoilers in general ruin the experience, well then, they just haven't met me.  I'll still be just as excited, even if I know what's coming.  Possibly more so because I know what's coming and can't wait to see it for myself.  That's just me, but that's also why I created this page, for all the other people like myself who are tired of waiting and wondering.

I won't give away everything since ROA the movie is different from ROA the book, but if you want to know more about Ian's scenes as Paul Denton...read on!

We first see Paul at the End of the World Party.  He's described as one of the beautiful people.  Twenty years old with supermodel looks, "but is clearly too sharp to settle for that."  (Wow, how's that for perfect casting?  <g>)  Paul is talking to his friends, but sees Sean across the room with Kelly.  When Sean turns his attention to Kelly, Paul turns his attention to the Handsome Dunce.  (Yep, that's really the character's name...LOL)  The Handsome Dunce is exactly that - all brawn and no brain - "as good looking as they come."  Paul decides "he'll do" and the Dunce says he may have some E back in his room.  Paul takes him up on the offer, clearly having a different sort of "ecstasy" in mind.

In Dunce's room, while they wait for the E to kick in, Paul is checking out the Dunce's CDs.  He's got Bruce Springsteen.  Come on Paul, that should have been your first clue that the Dunce wasn't gay!  Anyway, when HD tells Paul he feels the E kicking in, Paul lays down on the bed with him and proceeds to give him a big, wet kiss.  HD doesn't take this very well and violently pushes Paul away.  Paul lands on the floor and HD adds a solid kick to the groin for good measure before throwing Paul out into the hallway.  Anyone else remember the comment from Roger's journal on 9/25/01 about Ian getting thrown against the wall 6 times?

After the credits and such, we see Paul again at breakfast, as he makes his way through the cafeteria to a table of guys (Harry, Raymond and Donald) who are "too good looking to be straight."  This would be the cafeteria scene Massawyrm described from his set visit.  He greets them with, "Do I detect a table full of fags who've been up all night on Crystal Meth?"  The guys are busy compiling a student blacklist.  While they work on adding basically everyone to their blacklist, Paul spots Mitchell who is having breakfast with his "jerk friends."  Paul is even more annoyed when Mitchell's girlfriend comes up and hugs him.  It's apparent that Paul and Mitchell have some sort of history and Paul is very jealous at the moment.

Paul asks if the "slut with Mitchell" can be added to the blacklist.  To which Raymond sarcastically replies,  "Now, now Paul.  Calm down."  But adds her to the list anyway.  They continue adding people to their list until just about everyone except the four of them are blacklisted.  When Paul's definition of sexy comes into question, he decides Harry, Donald and Raymond look like the three witches in Macbeth, "except better looking and wearing Giorgio Armani."

When Donald suggests adding anyone who's parents are still married, Paul interrupts.  His parents are still married.  The boys are incredulous and after a long silence, they all scream with disbelief.  Paul sips his coffee as the other three go back to their list.  Paul sees Mitchell across the room again and wants to gag when Mitchell's girlfriend decides to sit on his lap while she talks to him.

Paul is now in a sufficiently bad mood that when Donald tries to bum more of his cigarettes, he thumps him on the back of the hand with a spoon and lets him have it about not buying his own cigarettes.  He decides there is "too much faggy banter for this early" and heads for the coffee machine....ending Paul's part of the cafeteria scene.

Not done yet!  Come back soon for more ROA spoilers.
